Studio D announced today that it has been ranked by the San Francisco Business Times on the 2018 Top 100 Bay Area Women-Owned Businesses list, an exclusive ranking one of the most important segments of the local economy. “The companies on this year’s list reported between $2.4 million and $1.5 billion in revenue. Companies are ranked by firmwide revenue in fiscal year 2017. They were required to be at least 51 percent women-owned and headquartered in the counties covered by the Business Times — San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo, Contra Costa & Marin, plus Palo Alto.”
Since its inception in 2003 (with expansion to New York in 2011), studio D has emerged as a fierce trendsetter in the home staging industry, having recently completed several high-profile projects on both coasts, including 9 Woodside Way, a modern estate in the exclusive Marin County enclave of Ross, as well as two 52nd Floor Penthouses at 56 Leonard Street, a recently-completed luxury high-rise tower in Manhattan designed by Pritzker-prize winning architects, Herzog & De Meuron.
“When you tell people unfamiliar with the industry that you stage homes,” Explains studio D’s CEO Gail Dunnett, “they have this vision of you storing pillows and bedding in your garage, when in fact, this business requires extensive warehouse space, racking, trucks, crews, with detailed and efficient operations that not only must work like a well oiled machine, but must transform spaces to sell a lifestyle which drives high ROI’s for clients. By honing all these aspects of the business daily, I am proud to have been able to build a business with such an amazing and talented team of people.”
Along with studio D’s spot on the Top 100 Bay Area Women Owned Businesses list, Dunnett herself has been honored as one of the San Francisco Business Times’ ‘Women Who Lead’ for 2018.
