La Casa de las Madres acts boldly to create a community where violence against women and children is not tolerated, and envisions a society in which all individuals and families have equal access to basic resources and asset-building opportunities. To achieve this future, La Casa offers a continuum of comprehensive and empowering services to women, teens, and children exposed to and at risk of abuse. We provide access, tools and support—clinical and peer-based—that strengthen their ability to affect change and break the cycle of violence.
BRIC is the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, and one of the largest in New York City. We present and incubate work by artists and media-makers who reflect the diversity that surrounds us. BRIC programs reach hundreds of thousands of people each year.
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit organization that partners with future and current homeowners to build simple, decent, and affordable housing for low to very low-income families. Volunteers and future homeowners work together in the building process.
On any given night in San Francisco, more than 1,300 young people are on the city’s streets without a safe place to call home, often through no fault of their own. From outreach and housing to health, education, and employment, Larkin Street offers the comprehensive services a young person needs to end the cycle of homelessness and create a permanent pathway out of poverty.
Shatterproof is a national non-profit dedicated to reducing the devastation the disease of addiction causes families. Shatterproof helps parents prevent their children from developing an addiction to alcohol and other drugs and ensure that those afflicted with this disease gain access to proven and effective treatments and long-term recovery programs. Shatterproof also aims to reduce the stigma and secrecy associated with addiction, removing the shame felt by those struggling with this disease and their families.
Turning Point Foundation was established in 1988 and serves more than 1000 clients each year through its shelter, supported housing and rehabilitation programs, Turning Point is the only non-profit agency in Ventura county that addresses the critical community support needs of mentally ill adults.
The Subvers!ve Music Foundation supports underprivileged youth in creating respectful, non violent drug free music by providing scholarships for music education, as well as raising awareness of drug treatment programs and their pitfalls.
Studio D donates furniture to the incredible non-profit organization – Housing Works. Housing works aims to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain their efforts. For over 25 years, Housing Works has addressed the needs of over 30,000 individuals, such as primary care, behavioral health and substance use support, youth and prevention services and AIDs Adult community healthcare that other organizations deem “too challenging” to serve.
